Cyber Risk Increases

Cyber risk is increasing due to COVID-19. Are you protected? Cyber criminals are taking advantage of the situation in many ways. They prey on urgency and fear. They thrive on the chaos created by disruption to our workforce.

Attacks are frequently initiated through phishing, the use of familiar brands/trademarks, and malware. You can help avoid being a victim in the office or at home by never opening any email attachments that end with: .exe, .scr, .bat, .com, or others that you do not recognize. Do not click “unsubscribe” – deleting the email is easier to deal with than dealing with the potential security risks. It is also unsafe to click embedded links in messages without hovering your mouse over them first to check the URL and verify that the domain is safe/secure. It is never a good idea to respond or reply to spam in any way. Always use the delete button.

Cyber protection is necessary in these ever-changing times. There are many insurers that can provide the protection that you need. Don’t wait until it is too late. Contact your Crown Risk Management representative for a free risk quote.
