Defense Base Act (DBA) Benefits
The Defense Based Act (DBA), passed in 1941, and subsequent amendments, requires coverage for U.S.-based employees working on military bases or on public works projects (e.g. dams, schools, and/or roads) outside the United States.
This coverage is required if you have employees:
- Working on a military base or reservation outside the United States
- Engaged in U.S. government-funded public works business outside the United States
- Engaged in public works or military contracts with a foreign government deemed necessary to U.S. National Security
- Providing services funded by the U.S. government outside the realm of regular military issue or channels
