Our firm's structure complements the general needs of employers in today's ever more challenging financial environment where product selection and implementation can have a significant impact on corporate profitability. Cost efficiency is achieved by applying accepted principles of risk management; retention, transfer and avoidance, in such a manner that cost is reduced while accepting reasonable risks. Crown Risk Management, LLC provides employers with the appropriate evaluations comparing both insured and self-insured alternative methods of handling risk to determine which is most suitable based on the employer's own experiences.

Michael Cronin formed Crown Risk Management, LLC in April 2005 after being employed by RMSCO, Inc. since 1981 where he held various positions including Senior Account Representative and National Sales Manager. During his 24-year career with RMSCO, Inc. the company grew from six employees into a leading third-party administrator of self-funded medical, dental and workers’ compensation plans. When he left RMSCO, Inc. the company employed 250 claim and insurance professionals with clients throughout the country.
Michael is a registered representative with Hazard and Siegel, Inc. and was initially responsible or the Financial Services and Retirement Plan Department at RMSCO, Inc.
Prior to his career with RMSCO, Inc., Michael was an agent for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company and a Registered Representative of Massachusetts Mutual Investor Service. He has been a Registered Representative since 1984. During his tenure at Connecticut Mutual, he held several positions including manager of its newly created investment division in Syracuse.
Michael is a 1970 graduate of Providence College where he completed his undergraduate degree. Currently, Michael holds licenses for life, health, and property casualty insurance in New York and several other states as well as his Series 6 and 63 licenses.
For more than 15 years, Jean has worked in the field of benefits and retirement planning. During this time, she has worked as a direct liaison between clients and vendors, effectively managing client relations including plan documents, administration and claim issues. Currently, Jean also assists in creating employee communication materials and conducting employee meetings.
Prior to this Jean worked as an accountant, giving her an in-depth understanding of the corporate need to minimize the financial burdens employee benefit programs cause.
Jean graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She then continued her education and began her Masters in Business Administration.
Jean holds her life, accident, and health license, along with a property and casualty license.
During his 15 year career in the employee benefits and retirement planning fields, Doug has worked as a direct liaison between clients and vendors. He effectively manages client relations including administration, funding and claim issues. He also creates employee communication materials and conducts employee meetings. Doug works with a variety of employee benefits including medical, dental, group life, long- term disability, short-term disability, NYS disability and retirement planning.
Doug received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Roanoke College in Virginia and currently holds his life, accident and health license and his Series 6 and 63 licenses. He is currently a Downtown Syracuse YMCA board member, formerly overseeing the board as chair.
Lynne is responsible for processing and managing FMLA, Short Term Disability, and NYS Paid Family Leave claims, ensuring that the proper steps and procedures are carried out when an employee applies for benefits. Lynne also assists with Crown Risk’s Post Injury Management Program. She communicates directly with employees and the insurer, with the goal of returning employees back to work.
Jessica assists with Crown Risk’s Post Injury Management Program. She communicates directly with the employer, employee, and insurer to ensure the proper course of each claim, with the goal of returning the employee back to work. She is also responsible for processing and managing short term disability benefits for clients in various states, ensuring that the proper steps and procedures are carried out when an employee applies for benefits.
With a vast array of more than 30 years of experience, Susan lends her expertise to managing corporate employee benefit programs, along with assisting in marketing efforts to ensure the right products and services are presented. After selection, she implements the benefits using effective communication and many times is on site with employees, providing one-on-one counsel. Susan also lends her expertise to day-to-day program management including reviews and renewals.
Joanne is responsible for managing our corporate employee benefits programs. She assists in marketing efforts to ensure the right products and services are presented. After selection, she implements the benefits using effective communication and many times is on site with employees, providing a hands-on approach. Additionally, she lends her expertise to day-to-day program management, including reviews and renewals. Joanne has been in the employee benefits industry since 1998 and holds a NYS Life, Accident, and Health insurance license.
Mike is responsible for managing corporate employee benefit and defined contribution programs. He provides strategic guidance to clients, evaluating health care trends, assessing benefit options, and advising on tactics to achieve health care cost reduction. Mike analyzes plan investments, plan designs, and ensures compliance, while also conducting group and 1-on-1 retirement education seminars. Mike has been gaining industry experience since 2010, holds his series 6, 63, and 65, and his New York Life, Accident and Health insurance license.
Alex is responsible for managing corporate employee benefit programs -- striving to contain costs, analyze alternative funding options, and provide sound, accurate advice to organizational leaders and those they serve. He prides himself in his ability to obtain an in-depth understanding of his client's business, craft an employee benefit strategy tailored to their specific needs, and execute each goal set throughout the year. Alex analyzes plan funding, plan design, and ensures compliance while also focusing on employee education and retention. Alex holds his New York Life, Accident, and Health insurance license and is an experienced HR professional.
Nicole is responsible for conducting marketing and renewals and implementing employee benefit programs for Crown Risk's small market segment. She is also responsible for processing and managing FMLA, Short Term Disability, and Paid Family Leave claims. Nicole has been gaining industry experience since 2014 and is in the process of obtaining her NYS Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License.
Nataly is responsible for plan investment analysis and design, helping our clients meet their financial goals and objectives. She assists clients in running sound pension benefits programs and is involved in daily management practices. Not only has Nataly been gaining industry experience since 2003, but she is also Series 6, 63, and 65 registered and holds her New York State life, accident and health insurance license.
Lori is responsible for all customer-facing initiatives involving prospective and existing property casualty commercial clients. This includes all marketing, renewal and billing functions. Additionally, she processes all medical and dependent care flex claims and administers COBRA. Lori holds her property casualty broker license and has been working in the insurance field for nearly 20 years.
